I love learning, which makes the world of training development and learner experience design a natural fit for me. Puzzling things out, hacking a path through the convoluted or intensely technical, and making the way for others easier—these are the things that bring me joy. There’s nothing so satisfying as seeing a learner’s face light up in understanding after interacting with a document, video, eLearning, or instructor-led course I’ve created.
As for my process, I start by asking questions: what business problems are we trying to solve, who are the stakeholders, who are the learners, and what does the business need them to be able to do that they cannot or are not doing now? The answers to these types of questions guide the design and development of the learning deliverables and help determine how to measure whether the training is successful as well as how to sustain the content going forward.
I enjoy working as part of a team or independently to create a wide variety of learner support materials tailored to meet business needs.
